Things to know
You are spoilt for choice in regards to great things to do in the area.
We have the most beautiful beaches within a radius of 10 km from where we are situated:
Southbroom Beach, Marina Beach, Trafalgar (Blue Flag beach), Glenmore Beach, Kinderstrand strand and Peter Pan beach
We are a 3-minute drive from Mac Banana where you can have the best pancakes that you have ever tasted. They also have the best-stocked farm stalls in Southern Africa and there are so many things to do there like paintball, Zip rope, quad bike trails and so much more.
If you are a coffee fan then you will be pleasantly surprised to hear that we have 2 very popular coffee farms in our area not far from where we are situated. Mpenjati Coffee Shop & Farm Stall and Beaver Creek Coffee Farm where you can have a walkabout crop-to-cup coffee tour.
For the little ones and car enthusiasts there is the Munster Motor Museum 5 km from us and to top it all the Wild Coast Sun is a mere 15-minute drive from us. There you can spend the day at the water park and if you are tired of the sun, you can play a game of ten-pin bowling.
There is also a vast range of pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops in close range from where we are situated.
Wild Coast Sun (Wild Waters) is just a mere 15-minute drive from your cottage.

Neighborhood
The little village of Palm Beach, named after the Ilala Palm (hyphaene critina), a species indigenous to sub-tropical Southern Africa and used by rural communities for centuries - the leaves for woven rooftops, baskets and mats and the sap for liquor - lies on the extreme southern coast of KwaZulu Natal, about 12 kilometres north of Port Edward.
Palm Beach not only has one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast with its own natural tidal pool and estuary that offers some wonderful swimming and windsurfing opportunities and attracts local fishermen, but it also borders the Mpenjati Nature reserve, which means an incredible bird life is attracted to the area, and little development has been allowed to spoil the neighbourhood.
The Mpenjati Nature Reserve surrounds the Mpenjati River lagoon and extends some 500 metres out to sea in order to protect the unique fossil found in the area. You’re only 18 kilometres from popular Margate here, particularly main beach, which is a huge draw card to the area; and the Wild Coast and popular casino are just across the Mtamvuma River from Palm Beach.
Add to that the local arts and crafts flea market on the lawn near the beach every Saturday and the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve, just a few kilometres inland from Port Edward, where a colony of Cape vultures nests in amidst the high cliffs that run the length of the river, and you’ll safely have more than enough to do, if chilling out in the hamlet of Palm Beach isn’t enough for you.
